UCSF CCMBM/JIC Skeletal Biomechanics Workshop: Assessing the quality of mineralized tissue at macro-, nano-, and molecular- scale

September 3 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join the Core Center for Musculoskeletal Biology and Medicine (CCMBM)/Junior Investigator Committee for a SKELETAL BIOMECHANICS WORKSHOP: Assessing the quality of mineralized tissue at macro-, nano-, and molecular- scale

The CCMBM JIC invites you to a virtual workshop on Skeletal Biomechanics. This unique workshop is a perfect introduction to the world of biomechanics and provides a great opportunity for young researchers to learn about multi-modal assessment of the material properties of mineralized tissues. Hear from UCSF experts on FTIR, nano-indentation and 3-point bending techniques and understand how to choose the right test for your research questions, how to prepare samples, run tests, and interpret your data with each of these techniques within UCSF facilities.

Presented by:

Galateia J. Kazakia, PhD

Associate Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging

Stefan Habelitz, PhD

Professor of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences
