POSITION
Postdoctoral position available to study epigenetic control of skeletal development
GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT
Postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Diana Carlone, Division of Endocrinology, Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. My laboratory is investigating the role of epigenetics in limb mesenchymal progenitor cell differentiation during endochondral ossification. We have identified a factor that is crucial for the initial stages of chondrogenesis and also for growth plate development. The focus of this position is to determine the interplay between this newly identified factor and the gene regulatory network and molecular mechanisms that control skeletal development. This project was recently funded by NIAMS.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The applicant must have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD degree. We seek a highly motivated, organized and reliable person who can work independently with strong written and oral communication skills. This project involves the use of genetically engineered mice, histological analyses and culture of primary cells and cell lines. Prior experience in limb and skeletal development and/or large scale data analysis, specifically ChIP-seq and RNA-seq, is a plus.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
