Jerome obtained his PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Tasmania, where he worked on understanding the mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration following traumatic brain injury. He then completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH)/NICHD in 2010 before returning to Melbourne, Australia, in 2015 to start his own lab at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health. In 2018 he joined Nature Communications as an Associate Editor before joining Nature Medicine in 2020. He is the Senior Editor at Nature Medicine handling studies in Neurology and Regenerative Medicine, including stem cell and cellular therapies.
